Theja Somasundara has demonstrated an interest in singing and performing. In 1980, he began to sing professionally at local Weddings and Entertainment Parties in Kandy. At an early age, His career sky-rocketed in 1983, through the publicity and exposure he received in appearing in his first music Album with Benedic Lopez (Bass Guitarist-late band member Fourtunes) These songs are more soulful and have greater personal meaning to him. After that another album “ Siripoda Wessa ” released in 1991 at “ Sausiripaya ” Studios. Music composed by Mr. Clarence Wijewardena. His composition skill is demonstrated through many different styles and types. Once again, Theja received great success through his performance of “Sanda Yahana” his latest album in 1998 at Shan Studios Ja-Ela. In the CD, he performed such songs as, “ Mage punchi Kaale”, “ Sulanga”, “ Aakase Nilpaata”, ” Maha Muhuda ”, ” Oya as”. These songs are very much romantic and songs which speak of unfulfilled love or unfinished love. Theja started to receive invitation to perform in various Open stage shows throughout Kandy. Nowadays his songs are on air through SLBC (Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporaion, RajarataFM, Kandurata FM SirasaFM,& TNL Radio. He is the lead singer for the band “stream”, which is very popular music band in local wedding Entertainment. Theja is currently in collaboration with Premnath Kodithuwakku and Nalaka Anjana Kumara to relese his latest album and he's searching for a good producer….
