Commissioner of Registration of Persons A.P. Dharmadasa says computerized National Identity Cards will be released to the general public shortly. The process of preparation of the NICs is now in the final stages.

A special feature of the new ID is that it includes the finger print of the card holder as well. Special information of the person is being included through secret codes. All information are stated in the three national languages.
