The
Jaffna Magistrate escaped unharmed while an Army escort
vehicle sustained damages, during an LTTE laid pressure
mine explosion which left a soldier killed and 2 wounded
at Kappathu in Kodikamam, Jaffna, Wednesday at around 1.30p.m.
According
to Army sources, the 'Unicorn' vehicle was along the Kodikamam-
Kappathu road providing security to the Magistrate who was
conducting an inquiry of a murder at the location.
The
Magistrate was safely escorted from the location by security
forces and extensive search operations are underway to net
the suspects, Army sources said. |
