Sri Lanka Telecom Mission Private company launches a new TV channel. The official ceremony was held in Colombo.

The Chief guest of the event was minister of Information and Media Anura Priyadarshana Yapa. Speaking at the ceremony, the minister described the launching of a new TV channel is an important landmark in the media field of the country.

The telecommunication sector of the country recorded a dramatic increase during the past period. Use of internet and mobile phones has also increased largely.

The Minister said all these trends have widen the opportunities for the public to access information. Minister Yapa stressed that the government is always committed to secure the right of public to access information.
