Head of the Peace Secretariat Professor Rajeewa Wijesinghe says non governmental organizations must urge the LTTE to allow people in the unliberated areas in the north to arrive at liberated areas.

The relief groups headed by government officials are continuously engaged in duties in Kilinochchi and other areas where humanitarian operations are being conducted.

Mr. Wijesinghe has charged that the LTTE is obstructing the distribution of aid provided by the United Nations and non-governmental organizations.

A latest report from the International Red Cross says adequate quantities of the food and other essential items are being provided to the people in the relevant areas.

The Peace Secretariat Chief also points out that unlike in other conflict-ridden countries, Sri Lanka was able to conduct all examinations according to schedule in areas where humanitarian operations are taking place.
