Clashes between security forces and LTTE terrorists reported in Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Welioya and Jaffna fronts in yesterday, 19 September, and at least 25 LTTE terrorists were killed while 11 others suffered injuries, said the finalized military report received from the battlefront. 16 others were reportedly either killed or wounded, the report added.

In Vavuniya front, confrontations reported from Navatkulam, Puvarasankulam and Palamoddai areas. 12 LTTE terrorists were killed while 5 others suffered injuries, the report said.

In Kilinochchi front, a heavy confrontation between security forces and LTTE terrorists took place in general area Panikanmadu during evening hours. By intercepting LTTE radio communication, it is revealed that 9 LTTE terrorists were killed in this attack. Two army personnel also sustained injuries during this confrontation. Meanwhile, another soldier sustained injuries exploding an anti-personnel mine in general area Kariyalaimoddai.

In Welioya front, 3 LTTE terrorists were killed while 6 more sustained injuries in series of clashes ensued in general area Andankulam. 16 more terrorists reportedly either killed or wounded due to these clashes, the report added. One soldier has made his utmost sacrifice for defending the motherland while another 4 sustained injuries during the gun battle in Andankulam area.

In Jaffna army snipers gunned down an LTTE terrorists ahead of own defence line in general area Kilaly during morning hours.
