LTTE gunned down a TMVP member - Batticaloa

Unidentified gunmen alleged to be LTTE terrorists gunned down a TMVP (Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal) member in east of Chenkaladi, Batticaloa last night, 19 September.

The incident took place around 7.00 p.m, the defence sources said.

The TMVP is a Tamil political party, which formed by the former eastern leader of the LTTE, Karuna Amman, in mainstream politics in Sri Lanka representing the Tamil community. Since then TMVP party members have been fighting for survival against violence unleashed on them by the LTTE terrorists.
