Consumer
Affairs Authority (CAA) has reportedly approved the request
made by the Shell Gas to increase the price of a 12.5Kg
domestic gas cylinder.
Even
though, Shell has requested for a price increase of Rs.
244.60, CAA has only approved an increase from Rs. 126/-
with effect from today midnight. The new price per Shell
Gas domestic cylinder would be Rs. 1,863/-.
Apart
from the Shell Gas’s request it is reported that
Laugfs Gas has also requested for a price hike by Rs.
192.45 which is yet to be considered by the Consumer Affairs
Authority of Sri Lanka.
