LTTE terrorists killed, 16 others reported wounded during
heightened battles between troops and LTTE in general area
South of Mallavi and pockets of the Eastern and Western
Wanni battlefront yesterday (Aug 30).

soldiers have laid their lives and 19 others reported wounded
in Saturday's confrontations at the Wanni and Northern battlefronts,
sources further said.
According
to finalized reports received, 6 LTTE terrorists were killed
alone and 4 injured following an air raid launched by the
MI-24 helicopter gunships in support of the advancing troops
of the Task Force -1, at Vannerikkulama, Kilinochchi, Saturday.
Separately, another terrorist was killed sniped in the same
area, military confirmed.

terrorists were killed, 5 injured following intense fighting
between troops and LTTE in general area North of Nachchikudha,
according to reports received. In addition, 5 soldiers have
sustained injuries in the confrontations, security sources
said. Also, 3 other soldiers received injuries due to separate
anti-personnel (AP) mine and IED explosions in Vannerikkulama
and Nachchikudha general areas.
At
the Eastern Wanni battlefront in general area Andankulam,
troops confirmed killing 4 LTTE terrorists and injuring
6 others in separate confrontations yesterday.
Meanwhile,
troops of the Task Force -2 operating in Palamodai general
area have reportedly confronted with a group of terrorists
killing 3 and injuring another, according to military. A
soldier has also sustained injuries due to an AP mine explosion
in the area.

LTTE terrorists were reported killed and 9 others injured
when troops clashed with terrorists since Saturday morning
in general area South of Mallavi, according to reports.
Heavy fighting was reported throughout the day as troops
confirmed inflicting serious damages despite resistance
from LTTE.
At
general area Navathkulama, troops of the 56 Division have
killed an LTTE terrorist and reportedly destroyed a bunker,
according to reports. Meanwhile, at the Jaffna theater of
battle, troops confirmed killing 2 terrorists during separate
sniper attacks in general area at Nagarkovil, on Saturday.
