USA provides one million rupees for the conservation and computerization of documentary films

The United States has provided financial aid amounting to three million rupees for the conservation and computerization of documentary films of historical importance produced by the State Film Corporation.

The US Ambassador in Sri Lanka Robert O. Blake at a the signing of an agreement in this connection at the Media Ministry in Colombo on Wednesday further said the objective is to inherit the future generation creative documentary movies of historic and aesthetic importance, produced by the Government Film Unit established in the year 1948.

Minister of Media Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said students of cinematology, researches as well as cinema fans could use the film conservatory free of charge.
