Sri
Lanka Air Force fighter jets carried out two successive
air raids targeting key LTTE locations ahead of the own
defence line in Muhamalai, Jaffna this evening, 12 September.
Air
Force spokesperson, Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara, speaking
to defence.lk said the SLAF fighters have raided LTTE forward
operational base located around 200 meters away from the
LTTE's Forward Defence Line (FDL) in Muhamalai at 5.05 p.m.
Five
minutes later, SLAF carried out the second air raid targeting
an LTTE storage facility located 500 meters away from terror
FDL in Muhamalai around 5.10 p.m. The targeted location
had been identified as a store complex used by the LTTE
terrorists to store their weapons, ammunitions and communication
equipments, spokesperson said.
The
targeted LTTE storage facility is completely destroyed due
to air bombardment and it is still in flames, the spokesperson
confirmed.
Both
the targets were engaged on information gathered through
Air Force technical and intelligence sources, spokesperson
added. |
