Police personnel uncovered fourteen packets of C4 (Plastic) high
explosives weighing about 7kg at Dehiwala in Colombo this morning
(September 5). Police personnel of Dehiwala police station, acting
on a civilian tip-off made this discovery around 9.40 a.m.
According
to the police sources, the items were found on the grassy stretch
between the coast and the railroad, at a location close to Preshers
Avenue. The army bomb disposal team was also summoned to the location.
It
has been also revealed that a mobile phone was also found along
with the high explosive packets. Police believes that the LTTE
terrorists have brought the items to improvise a bomb that activates
by a mobile phone. |
