Senior
LTTE leader killed in shooting incident-Trincomalee
A
senior LTTE leader identified as Kandeepan was killed in a shooting
incident that took place in the Sallisambalthvu area in Trincomalee
around 11 a.m. this morning (September 28) said the defence sources.
Sources
further said that an internal clash in LTTE might have caused
the killing. Kandeepan was believed to be the leader of the LTTE
gang which is responsible for covert operations in the Trincomalee
district. The mission of the terrorist gang is to cripple the
normalcy in East province which was liberated by the security
forces recently, the sources added.
On
Saturday (September 22) , LTTE terrorists believed to be led by
Kandeepan detonated a claymore mine targeting a privately owned
bus killing one civilian and injuring two others.
Police
investigations are continuing
