SL Army sources say that the injured LTTE cadre in the hand grenade explosion at Inuvil, Jaffna is one of the LTTE terrorists responsible for the Thursday's (September 27) claymore blast at Chunnakam. Earlier, it was believed that the explosion had occurred accidentally.

SL troops discovered an LTTE safe house at Inuvil in the Jaffna peninsula as a hand grenade explosion took place inside the house around 9:30 (September 28) this morning.

According to the defence sources in Jaffna troops made this discovery as they had gone to the location on hearing the explosion. An LTTE cadre was found seriously injured at the location and was rushed to the Jaffna government hospital.

The hospital sources said that the injured has been admitted to the Intensive care unit of Jaffna hospital. The injured LTTE cadre has been identified as V. Vijeykumar aged 28 years.

Troops had found a claymore mine, a triggering device and a micro pistol inside the house. According to the available information the owner of the house is said to be an employee at the Municipal Council in Jaffna.
