At least ten terrorists were believed killed when troops retaliated with effective counter attack dismantling an LTTE offensive in the Muhamalai Forward Defence Lines (FDL) at 6.30a.m.today (Sep 14).

Citing Army sources MCNS officials said, LTTE loses were confirmed through intercepted enemy communication. The exchange of fire lasted nearly an hour in which two soldiers sustained injuries, the sources said.

The injured soldiers were admitted to the Palali military base hospital, officials said.
