The government vehemently condemns the LTTE suicide blast occurred at the opening of a UNP office in Anuradhapura this morning. Minister of Information and Media Anura Priyadarshana Yapa extended condolences on behalf of the government to the blast victims including Major General Janaka Perera.

He said all these deaths are a great loss to the country. The Minister pointed out the need of the public to act wisely at this crucial moment. The LTTE facing severe defeat at the hands of the security forces in the north are attempting to create a chaotic situation in the south.

Minister Yapa said the suicide blast in Anuradhapura is one of such attempts by the terrorists and the public should be cautious regarding this situation.
