Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, condemns the suicide blast in Anuradhapura (Sri Lanka) which killed 27 and injured more than 80 people.

"I am deeply shocked by the suicide attack at the United National Party office in Anuradhapura this morning. I condemn in the strongest possible terms this appalling act of terrorism which cannot be justified under any circumstances. I send my sincere condolences to the relatives of those killed and injured and sympathy to the Government and people of Sri Lanka for the tragic loss of life.”
