20 LTTE terrorists were killed and similar numbers reported injured during confrontations erupted between troops and LTTE at the Wanni theater of battle yesterday (Oct 3), according to finalized military reports received.

Pitched fighting was reported, as troops claimed killing 10 terrorists and injuring 12 others in separate confrontations in general areas at Pandiveddikulam and Vannerikkulama at the Kilinochchi battlefront. In addition 3 soldiers have laid their lives and 14 wounded during the confrontations.

Meanwhile, troops operating at Navathkulama and Palamodai general areas claimed killing 5 terrorists and wounding 2, on Friday. Also, troops of the 59 Division operating North of Andankulam have reportedly killed 5 terrorists and injured 6 others. 6 soldiers were also inured in the confrontations, military said.
