Fighter
jets of the Sri Lanka air force raided two identified targets
of the LTTE around 9.20 Friday morning. One of the targets
was the office of Nadesen, the so-called political wing
leader of the LTTE. Air force spokesman wing commander Janaka
Nanayakkara says the other target was a camp of terrorists.
Nadesen’s office was located 500 meters west to the
Kilinochchi town. The air force spokesman said the attack
was launched based on technical and ground intelligence
information.
Meanwhile,
the Media Centre for National Security says troops have
killed 40 terrorists and injured 52 in clashed in Jaffna,
Mullative, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya and Welioya during the
last 24 hours. Two soldiers were also killed and another
20 injured. The troops captured five LTTE bunkers in Nallakulam
in Vavuniya and Welioya.
