Also, troops of 572 Brigade continued forward domination operations in east of Akkarayankulm and northeast of Akkarayankulam areas had confronted with LTTE terrorists during day hours yesterday.

Meanwhile, troops of 574 Brigade, flanking the Kilinochchi front from the east continued their thrust towards the Jaffna - Kandy road (A-9), attacked at terror gathering point observed in general area Padinadampore. Task Force 1 operating in the western half of the Kilinochchi front continued their march at opposite directions down the Mannar - Pooneryn (A-32) road during the course of the day.

Troops of 59 Division operating in Andankulam, north of Andankulam and Thannimurippukulam areas had several confrontations with LTTE terrorists. Troops confirmed that LTTE suffered maxim damage during these clashes. Troops engaged in mine clearing operations in general area Andankulam have unearthed 91 anti-personnel mines from recently captured areas.
