Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa held talks with the
Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe this afternoon
at Presidential Secretariat to brief the present situation
in the North.
Presidential
Secretariat sources said the President informed the Opposition
Leader on the humanitarian operations carried out by the
forces in North and the humanitarian relief provided to
the displaced people.
Sources
said that the President talked about the dialogue with
the Indian government as well and the two leaders exchanged
ideas about the need of a political settlement for the
present crisis.
Ministers
Nimal Siripala de Silva and Dinesh Gunawardena also participated
in the discussions.
