Do not whitewash LTTE. Will you accuse the government if Ranil will be killed by LTTE tomorrow, Rukman Senanayaka asks from UNP leaders
24.10.2008

United National Party (UNP) Chairman Rukman Senanayaka says that the party must have backbone to see killings of LTTE as theirs and they must not be whitewashed.

He made these comments at the meeting of the UNP Working Committee.

He said that LTTE made Mr. Ranjan Wijerathna a piece of charcoal and killed Mr. Lalith Athulathmudali. He said that finger was pointed at late President Premedasa for the killing of Athulathmudali which was actually conducted by the LTTE. He said that the party should have backbone to say that all of them were killed by the LTTE.
The UNP challenged to name any other organization that possesses suicide bombers. He said that he was criticizing LTTE at the risk of his life and many have thanked him for that proving he was right.

Rukman Senanayaka questioned from the UNP Working Committee if it was going to accuse the government if Ranil Wickramasinghe would be killed by LTTE tomorrow. Urging not to whitewash LTTE, the UNP Chairman asked the Working Committee to clear the party from charges of LTTE links that go with Ranil Wickramasinghe if it wants to win.
The majority of the UNP Working Committee applauded when Rukman Senanayaka said that he would insist always that Janaka Perera was killed by LTTE and the government committed an offense by not providing security to him.
