Urge French authorities to crack down on LTTE front organizations

Joining the string of protest demonstrations against the ruthless activities of the LTTE in Sri Lanka and its front organizations operating as 'charities' in the international arena, Sri Lankans living in France will stage another landmark event urging a further crackdown on the terrorist organization.

According to organizers of the event, a protest demonstration will take place in Trocadero, France on Sunday, the 19th of this month at 3 pm.

The organizers plan to urge the French authorities to take tangible measure to curb clandestine LTTE operations in France.

The LTTE has been listed as a terrorist organization by several member states of the European Union and other countries including the USA, Canada and India.

The organisers of the event, United Sri Lankans in France said in a media release that the protest also aims to show utmost condemnation of the ruthless and most barbaric killings of innocent civilians including women and children by the LTTE terrorist.

They accused LTTE for continuous recruitment of children as armed combatants while holding the Tamil population as hostages and using them as a human shield against the advancing Government forces.

Repeating the accusations by most of the Sri Lankans in European nations against LTTE for extortion, intimidation and harassment of innocent Tamil civilians, the Tamil Diaspora said that cadres of LTTE and members of its various front organizations and mafia gangs are still engaged in such inhuman activities.

"We urge you to investigate into the nefarious activities of LTTE terrorists and take legal action against them enabling the law abiding French citizens of Sri Lankan origin – both Tamil and Sinhala – to live and enjoy the democratic individual freedoms in this liberal nation," the statement further said.
