The
Supreme Court dismisses a petition submitted by a support
of the JVP challenging the appointment of Vinayagamurthi
Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman as a parliamentarian. Declaring
the Supreme Court decision today three member panel of judges
headed by Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva said the Supreme
Court has no jurisdiction to mediate with this problem as
it is a rift between two political parties. CJ further said
that the JVP has no legal immunity to challenge a decision
a decision of the United Peoples Freedom Alliance since
the JVP is no more an ally of the UPFA. |
