Colombo Magistrate Court issued an enjoining order today to Edna Confectionary Private Limited banning production, distribution and sale of chocolates. Colombo Additional Magistrate Manjula Thilakarathne issued this order after hearing a complaint logged by Consumers Protection Authority. According to the complaint the company is alleged to use milk powder that is adulterated with a harmful chemical named Melamine in producing chocolates. The court orders a detailed report with regard to the incident to be submitted on the 28th of this month.
