Mr.
Narayanan the National Security Advisor for India has
summoned our Deputy High Commissioner in New Delhi to
the Indian External Affairs Ministry and having expressed
India’s concerns about the growing civilian casualties
in the war has called for greater restraint by the army.
Now
Mr. Narayanan, these “growing civilian casualties”
you refer to are our citizens that the LTTE is using as
shields to prevent the army from entering Kilinochchi
to end the war. Progress has been very slow as a result
of this human shield and the army has therefore cleared
escape routes for civilians to enter army controlled areas
where their basic needs will be looked after till they
could return home.
As
I said before these citizens are Sri Lankan citizens and
not Indian citizens. Therefore it is none of your business
to interfere with our internal affairs. If you still have
a problem why don’t you report it to the UN in writing
without resorting to the verbal route you adopt with us?
You
have also told us that we should revive the so–called
political process between the terrorists and the government.
Why don’t you tell that to George Bush namely that
he should enter into a “political process”
with Al-Quaeda giving them what they want and have peace
thereafter? We know that you will not dare tell that to
George Bush. You are therefore not honest in what you
say.
It
is clear that your idea is to save the LTTE so that they
could destabilize Sri Lanka for you to get a foothold
with the intention of eventually annexing our country.
In addition to that you are trying to achieve the same
thing by getting us to devolve power so that the LTTE
could declare independence. That will not work Mr. Narayanan.
We will go further and dismantle the provincial councils
and everything you have imposed on us. We know as much
as you do that if you were to annex Sri Lanka which occupies
the most strategic location in the Indian Ocean, militarily
and economically you will be the undisputed master of
the entire Ocean but today it is a lost dream for you.
You planned to annex our county for 30 years by creating
the LTTE at a time when we were very weak and you failed.
We are incomparably stronger now. Why don’t you
try another IPKF again? You will not dare.
We
remember the very high-powered delegation of three that
came to see our President very recently and most probably
told our President to stop attacking the LTTE but unlike
last time when the LTTE was about to be annihilated you
threatened JR Jayawardene the president at that time to
halt the offensive which he did creating all this suffering
for us it will be different this time Mr. Narayanan. The
LTTE will be destroyed and the people of the Northern
Province will have peace just like those in the Eastern
province providing the complete solution to the problem
you planned and created against us through the LTTE.
We
do not insult any country just because it is militarily
not our equal. For example we do not attempt to establish
hegemony over the Maldives. Contrary to your empty swollen
headed attitude we have respect for the Maldives as they
have for us. There are limits to any country insulting
another and with you we have reached that limit. It is
a mistake to think that it is only the majority Sinhalese
who consider India our enemy. The Tamils and Muslims also
feel the same way. Those who killed the invading Indian
troops were not Sinhalese. It was the Tamils who killed
the Indian troops.
After
your deal with the United States the Western superpower
you are now an ally of that superpower with obligations
to the superpower. Sovereignty can only be maintained
with alliances among equals but not with a superpower.
Any nation that has an alliance with a superpower has
lost her sovereignty.
Therefore
the continental Buddhist Asian countries and the Islamic
islands south of the Asian continent view you with suspicion.
They have all been watching the way you have been treating
us and have taken note of what your attitude towards them
would be. If you continue to interfere with us then all
the countries I mentioned above will isolate you and move
towards closer ties with China and Pakistan which will
have an adverse effect for India.
If
you stop all this nonsense then we will have respect for
you and a peaceful atmosphere will prevail where we all
benefit. If not it will be as outlined above. The choice
is yours and what follows then will stem from what you
decide.
