Troops of the 58 Division operating in general area Vannerikkulama at the western Kilinochchi battlefront confirmed destroying 4 LTTE bunkers, killing 12 terrorists and injuring 6 others yesterday(Oct 12).

According to Wanni military sources, 8 terrorists were killed in the area when troops forced into an LTTE bunker line destroying 4 bunkers, at around 2p.m. Earlier, troops confirmed killing 4 terrorists and injuring 6 others during a short encounter in the same area, at 8.30p.m.

A soldier has laid his life and 14 others were reported wounded including 6 due to anti-personnel (AP) mine explosions in general area Vannerikkulama, military sources said.
