Air Force MI-24 helicopter gunships launched twin air assaults at identified LTTE strongpoints located at the Thannimurrippukulama Tank bund, North of Welioya, today (Oct 09) at 4p.m.

The air assaults were made in support of the advancing troops of the 59 Division, Air Force sources said.
