Yasas Tillakaratne - the evergreen cricket coach and
first class player - has returned to Melbourne to Captain the
Brighton Cricket Club and to coach the ever increasing number
of young aspiring cricketers.
Yasas played 56 first class matches and 7 matches for Sri Lanka
A since his debut in 1992/93. He is a left hand bat and legbreak
bowler who has played for the Antonians Sports Club, Colombo Cricket
Club, Moors Sports Club and Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club.
He has a ten year career of professional commitments in the UK
and Australia. He has played in the North Lancashire, Surrey and
Durham Leagues and was also invited to play first-class cricket
in Bangladesh.
This unassuming gentleman has been a great advertisement and proud
export from Sri Lanka.
He is shown here with Aidan(9) and Ryan(7) Miles on a Sunday morning
