Army soldiers attacked a terrorists' bunker ahead of the security forces defence line in the West of Adampan this morning (October 28) said the defence sources. The ground troops have confirmed that the enemy bunker located at Narikkulama was completely destroyed and at least six terrorists were killed in the attack. No casualties were reported to own troops, sources further added.

Army soldiers despite the torrential rains have stepped up their pre-emptive strikes at the enemy strong points immediately ahead of own defence line, as the terrorists have increased infiltration bids at the Wanni defence. On Monday (October 22), a group of 21 LTTE suicide cadres launched a massive attack at the Sri Lanka air force base at Anuradhapura killing over 14 security forces' personnel and destroying eight aircraft.

According to the Defence observers, Anuradhapura terror attack is a clear indication of LTTE's intention to cause severe destructions in the South. They are in the view that government must take immediate action to prevent terrorists coming into cleared areas, considering the safety of the people.

LTTE is a ruthless terrorists' outfit which has been fighting for a mono ethnic separate homeland for the Tamils living in Sri Lanka since 1983. The outfit's two and half decade old terror campaign against Sri Lankan people has so far claimed over 65,000 lives.
