Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva today (15) ordered to the Prisons Commissioner to show cause for producing Minister Mervin Silva's son Malaka Silva to Supreme Court without a court order.
Enquiring about producing him I courts without a summon, the Chief Justice further ordered the prisons Commissioner to show cause on October 29 for transferring the accused to Prison Hospital instead of remanding him in prison.
The Prisons Commissioner who is on a foreign tour was absent in courts today. Eying at Malaka Silva who was in the defendant box, the Chief Justice said that he was not the person he needed to be there.
Chief Justice asked from whose money the Prisons Commissioner is touring abroad. "All these people assume responsibilities and later start touring," said the Chief Justice adding that none is working.
The courts also issued an interim order to remove the accused from Prison Hospital and to remand him in prison.
