Pro-LTTE
websites have reported that the 54th birthday celebrations
of the aging leader Velupillai Prabkaran were cancelled
on his instruction.
Reasons
for cancelling of the birthday celebrations are not clear.
In
the meantime, Minister Kehelia Ramukawella, Government
spokesman on Defence and National security has said that
the fall of Kilinochchi is imminent.
Defence
Ministry sources also announced that Troops of Task Force
3 operating east of Mankulam have gained total control
over the Olumadu village yesterday evening, located 4Km
northeast of Mankulam along the Mankulam - Mullaittivu
(A-34) main road, reaching to a significant stage in the
Wanni liberation operation, which is another blow to the
LTTE’s sagging moral.
However
Prabakaran the leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil
Eelam who took to arms vowing to create a separate state
of Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka, has lost since November 27,
1982 to November 20, 2008, more than 22,390 Tamil Tigers
- young Tamil men and women.
