The United Kingdom has denied entry visa for MDMK leader
Vaiko according to media reports. This decision is reported
to have been prompted by Vaiko's aggressive pro-LTTE posturing.
"Speculation was rife in Chennai that MDMK leader Vaiko
will be attending a LTTE function in the United Kingdom,"
certain sections of international media reported adding
that Vaiko was yesterday denied visa to travel to London,
apparently for his pro-LTTE stand, forcing him to cancel
the air ticket booked for this purpose.
The LTTE has been banned in Britain.
Vaiko, along with Party Presidium Chairman M.M. Kannappan,
was arrested recently in Chennai for making pro LTTE speeches
and released on bail.
It's believed Vaiko was going to the UK to attend a function
on November 27th organized by LTTE activists in Britain
to commomerate LTTE suicide cadres.
The LTTE, which is banned in the EU, organises functions
to mark LTTE's "remembrance day" in the form
of seminars and conference," media reports revealed.
