Troops of Task Force 3 operating east of Mankulam have gained total control over the Olumadu Village reaching to a significant stage in the Wanni liberation operation this evening (Nov 25).

After fierce fighting which lasted for a few days, troops of Task Force 3 were able to reach the Olumadu area and started further consolidating operations from this afternoon.

Olumadu is located 4Km northeast of Mankulam along the Mankulam - Mullaittivu (A-34) main road.

Troops now engaged in further consolidating operations in the area.
