17 Tamil civilians who had escaped from LTTE dominated areas in Wanni came to Idappatalai area in Jaffna last morning (Nov 17). According to the defence sources in the area, 6 males and 11 females including 5 children arrived in a boat crossing the Kilaly lagoon.

The civilians told the security forces authorities that there are tens and thousands of civilians in LTTE dominated areas in Wanni are waiting to get free from the LTTE tyranny. The civilians were provided with basic facilities and were directed to the civilian welfare authorities, the sources added.
