Identified LTTE positions and strong points were engaged with heavy artillery and mortar fire while infantry battalions of the 57 Division pushed further into non-liberated territory leading towards Kilinochchi, Sunday (Nov 16), Wanni military sources reported.

According to military sources, sections of the Army offensive elements operating at Pudumurippukulam area, approximately 8.5km Northeast of Akkarayankulam Tank bund have taken 3 successful sniper targets, today.

Meanwhile, southern elements of the 57 Division now operating west of Kokavil have confronted with a group of terrorists and subsequently recovering a terrorist body along with a T-56 assault rifle.
