A
fascist who only knows the taste of human flesh couldn’t
be allowed to destroy the democratic rights of Tamil people
says Minister of Social Services and Social Welfare and
Leader of EPDP Dougles Devananda. Minister Devananda said
this making a special statement on the attempt on his
life by a tiger terrorist human bomb at his office at
Narahenpita yesterday (28th). Minister Devananda was participating
at the committee stage of the budget debate.
Full
text of Minister Devananda’s statement:
Prabakaran,
who alleged that he would usher in liberation for Tamil
people, assassinated many democratic leaders of Tamil
people. Were Tamils liberated? I am not scared of Velupillai
Prabakaran’s threats, growls or attacks. I am dedicated
for the democratic rights of the Tamil people. I shall
never flee from democracy fearing a tiger who only desires
human flesh. I will never allow a terrorist to destroy
the democratic rights of the Tamil people.
Truth
can never be defeated. The low level barbarism carried
out by Prabakaran against humanity would never be victorious.
Prabakaran has brought misery to the whole country for
the gratification of a single individual. It is the fascist
known as Prabakaran who was instrumental in creating tombstones
for 19857 Tamil youths. However, palaces have been erected
for his children and they are educated in foreign countries.
Is this the liberation Prabakaran has promised?
I
know that there are several agents in this assembly who
represent Prabakaran. I tell them to go and tell Prabakaran
that his end is not too far away. Tell him that Douglas
Devananda is not afraid of those who hide in bunkers eating
human flesh.
Prabnakaran
can recognize only the smell of human flesh. Barbarism
exists all over his body. The attack targeting me and
the attack carried out at Nugegoda proved his cannibalistic
practice.
Prabakaran
is not a friend for the Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims,
India or the international community. Today Prabakaran
is pleading with the international community to save him.
He is shedding tears. However, the international community
has identified him. Prabakaran doesn’t like peace.
Prabakaran should take the responsibility of turning this
civilized country into a brutal slaughter house. It is
the barbarian called Prabakaran who is responsible for
the deaths of personnel of security forces and civilians
in three decades of war in this country.
I
extend my sympathies to the relatives of those who died
in the attack at Nugegoda yesterday, those who were injured,
those injured in the tiger attack on Roman Catholic School
in Mannar and the people in the North who are subjected
to Prabakaran’s brutality. I call upon this assembly
to unite to bring the end of barbaric Prabakaran.
