Sri Lanka made use of the opportunity available to her to
meet a number of leaders that had gathered in Uganda. President
Rajapaksha met the Prime Minister of India Mon Mohan Singh
on the 24th October at Monyonyo Resort at kampala ,Uganda
where the leaders were accommodated.
The two leaders discussed areas of common interest of political,
Economic, Social matters relating to the two countries.
President
Rajapaksha held cordial discussions on a political solution
to the ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka.
In
the discussions the President had with the Malaysian Prime
Minister President Rajapaksha invited the Malaysian Prime
Minister to send to Sri Lanka Malaysian investors to go
ahead with the Colombo- kandy highway. They both pledged
to work together in friendship in the interest of the
two countries.
Further
President Rajapaksha had friendly discussions with the
Prime Ministers of Singapore and New Zealand. The 25th
was the final day of the sessions. The final executive
session was also held the same day. At the end of the
summit Prsident Rajapaksha and his delegation left for
Iran to strengthen another alliance.
