The Government is getting ready to ban the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Ealam (LTTE).

President's Senior Adviser Basil Rajapakse has put forward the opinion in this regard at a special discussion held in the Defense Ministry on November 14.

It is reported that Basil Rajapakse said that the President wished to bow to the JVP's four conditions than losing the budget.

The President is expected to address the nation prior to the budget and will clarify the position on ceasefire agreement, ethnic issue and All Party Representative Committee.

Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse, Media Minister Lakshman Yapa Abewardhana, Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and state media chiefs participated in the discussion in which the Government displayed the possibility of agreeing to the JVP?s conditions before the budget.

Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage proposed to ban the LTTE at the last Government parliamentary group meeting amidst the protest of Minister Dilan Perera and few others who said that there was no point in it in the current context.

When several Ministers protested MP Wijedasa Rajapakse's crossover and the statement, Minister Dilan said that no one tried to keep a gentleman like him in the Government. He further said that attacking him manipulating the likes of Rajitha Senarathna was unacceptable.

He said that he had problems and would continue the struggle against corruption after the budget.
