UNP Ratnapura district MP Mahinda Ratnatilleka has joined the government this morning following a discussion with President Mahinda Rajapakse.

I didn't come looking for portfolios. I only came to support the budget. No one invited me to join the govt. I came on my own and I am still a member of the UNP" MP Mahinda Ratnatilleka said minutes ago addressing a media briefing.

Commenting on the decision by Minister Dilan Perera to resign from SLFP central committee over the crossover of UNP MP Mahinda Ratnatilleka, Media Minister Anura Yapa said it should not be an issue to anyone since MP Ratnatilleka has joined the government to resolve the national issue.
