Tamil civilians in Mullaittiuvu seek protection with security forces - Pulmoddai

A group of eleven Tamil civilians who had escaped the LTTE areas in Mullaittiuvu reached the government control area in Pulmoddai seeking refuge with security forces this morning, May 06.

According to the sources, 7 males and 4 females were among the escapees. A 15 years-old child and 5 youths, ages between 18 and 23 years, are among the escapees, sources said.

The escapees have revealed that they had to leave their native places to save their children and youths from the LTTE. Commenting on the prevailing situation in Mullaittiuvu, they further stated that the LTTE terrorists are forcibly recruiting underage children and youth for the outfit and occupying them on LTTE defence lines in Wanni.

They have further stated that, they are unable to carryout their day today life as the LTTE is extorting money in higher rates from the civilians.

Security forces have made arrangements to bring them into Pulmoddai and the security forces are providing all necessities for these escapees.
