H.E the President and Commander-in-Chief President Mahinda Rajapaksa awarded 'Vishista Seva Vibhushanaya' decoration to 37 senior officers in the Regular Forces of the Army, Navy and the Air Force as a reward for their services of exceptional merit, nobility and loyalty.

The awarding ceremony, after a lapse of 10 years, was held at the Presidential Secretariat this evening (May 2).

Two Senior Army officers were posthumously awarded the decoration.

Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, President Secretary Mr. lalith Weeratunga, the Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, CDS Air Chief Marshal Donald Perera, the Army Commander Lt. General Sarath Fonseka, the Navy Commander Vice Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, the Air Force Commander Air Marshal Roshan Goonethilaka, the IGP Victor Perera, Director General MCNS Mr. Lakshman Hullugalle and many senior officers of Tri Services graced the occasion.
