President
Mahinda Rajapakse says the government is ready to face
the global oil crisis successfully under a new programme.
Price
of a crude oil barrel has surpassed the 130 dollar mark
in the world market. This has become a crisis face by
almost every country of the world.
However
the president notes comparing to other countries of the
region the oil prices in Sri Lanka are still at a lower
level.
President
Rajapakse made these remarks at a ceremony held in Temple
Trees last evening with the representatives of government
trade unions.
The
Trade Union representatives requested the president to
appoint a high level management committee to reduce traffic
jams occurred in urban areas. Many representatives of
the government trade unions and several ministers were
present on this occasion.
