Sri Lankans are going through a
period of crises that definitely hinders living literally
a life in accordance with Buddhist Philosophy; at a time
when Dharma has been suppressed by unrighteousness states
the Wesak message issued by the JVP.
Mr.
Somawanss Amarasinghe’s message states, “However,
Dharma cannot be suppressed eternally. All local and international
‘Mara senas’ could be defeated” and
calls on all Buddhists and non-Buddhists all over the
world to resolve to defeat unrighteousness and bring victory
to Dharma.

Let’s bring victory to Dharma!
Wesak Full Moon Poya Day is sacred to Buddhists all over
the world. It is on this day that Prince Siddhartha was
born. This is the day ascetic Siddhartha achieved Buddha
hood. Gautama Buddha passed away on a day like this.
We, Sri Lankans, inherited many noble qualities such as
donation, benefaction, co-existence and tolerance as a
result of the direct influence of Buddhist philosophy.
Sri Lankan Nation that lived in a society built on such
noble qualities and many others for a very long period
that generally assured coexistence is at present going
through a period of crises that definitely hinders living
literally a life in accordance with Buddhist Philosophy;
at a time when Dharma has been suppressed by unrighteousness.
However, Dharma cannot be suppressed eternally. All local
and international ‘Mara senas’ could be defeated.
Let’s, on this Wesak Full Moon Poya Day, resolve
to defeat unrighteousness and bring victory to Dharma.
Let’s indulge in Dharma! This is our appeal to all
Buddhist and non-Buddhist peoples on this Earth.
