Two F-7 aircrafts left from Katunayaka yesterday (16) evening for attacking two LTTE aircrafts that were displayed on the radars of Vavuniya radar centre. However, the LTTE aircrafts disappeared from the radars on the way. More Mig and Kfir aircrafts left from Katunayaka to attack positions in Iranamadu area and 12 aircrafts were used in the assault.
A spokesman of the Air Force said to Lanka-e-News that the pilots reported a massive fire near LTTE runaway in Iranamadu and speculated it could be an LTTE aircraft or a fuel store.

Reports from Kilinochchi also verified that there was a massive blast but it was not confirmed an aircraft.
