The swearing in ceremony for the
members elected for the Eastern PC scheduled for tomorrow
in the afternoon has been postponed says sources in Presidential
Secretariat. The tussle between Muslim Ministers and Pilleyan
fraction to grab the post of chief ministerial post has
not been resolved.
Pilleyan
says he should be the CM as his party, the TMVP, has obtained
the majority seats in the council while Muslim leaders
say Hisbullah should be appointed the CM as Muslims have
got more seats in the PC than any other community.
Meanwhile
the President has had several rounds of discussions with
Muslim ministers but has not been able to arrive at an
agreement. According to sources in Presidential Secretariat
the President has decided not to name the CM for now.
