VAVUNIYA: Five LTTE terrorists were killed during confrontations with troops in PERIYAMADU yesterday (12) morning at 7.15. A search operation conducted by troops in the area recovered the following items;

200 T56 ammunition
11 Anti-personnel mines
03 Improvised explosive devices

On the same day at 1.20pm in PALAMODAI another five LTTE terrorists were reported killed in a fire fight between LTTE and Troops. Five more terrorists were injured. Meanwhile two soldiers were wounded in action in this incident.

Meanwhile at 3.30pm and 3.35pm in the KATPULAN area during confrontations with LTTE two soldiers were reported injured.

In SIRINAGAKULAM at 4.40 in the evening three LTTE terrorists were reported killed in a confrontation. One soldier was also reported wounded in action.

During confrontations in UDAWADI area, VAVUNIYA at 9.50 yesterday (12) morning ten (10) LTTE terrorists were reported injured. Another terrorist was killed in an incident which occurred around 4.50pm in the same area.

MANNAR: Meanwhile in a confrontation in PIKKULAM area, MANNAR around 4.50pm one LTTE terrorist was killed.
