Ten Sri Lankan Police Officers contemporarily serving in the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) as Peace Keeping Officers have been honourly decorated with United Nation's (UN) Peace Keeping Medal.

The awarding Ceremony was held on the last 30th April at the UNMIL Headquarters, Monrovia, Liberia.

The awarded Sri Lankan Policemen are Mr. Shanmuganathan Krishanthan, Mr.Geeganage Weerasooriya, Mr. Nayanapriya Edirisinghe, Mr. Prasanna De Silva, Mr. D.E.N. Weliserage, Mr. Ayasa Karunaratne,Mr. Nimal Jayawickreme and Mr.Ravi Peris, Mr. Konara Samarakoon, Mr. Rohan.J.Silva

The ceremony was graced by Mr.Allan Doss, the Special Representative to the Secretary General (SRSG). The other distinguish guests were Genaral Martinz Du Toi, Police commissioner and Mr. Edward Bradly, Cheif of Staff .
