Sri Lanka Air Force fighter jets pounded on LTTE military base in the Mullaittivu area this afternoon, Tuesday the 29th of May.

According to the defence sources the air strike was launched at 2:20 p.m. by the SLAF supersonic fighter jets.

The well-identified LTTE military base located at Puthukkudiyiruppu in Mullaittivu was completely destroyed due to the bombardment, sources further said.

The targeted LTTE base was under military surveillance for a long time and it was clearly identified as one of the key military establishments of the LTTE terrorists.
