LTTE suicide boat uncovered- Batticaloa

Acting on civilian information the SL Army troops uncovered an LTTE suicide boat at Komathalamadu lagoon in the east, on Sunday the 27th of May, at around 2.00 p.m.

Military sources said that the boat was structured to be used for LTTE suicide missions with four claymore mines installed in its front tubes. Further investigations also enabled to uncover high explosives laden in its rear section. The Army bomb disposal squads are examining the boat, the sources added.

Earlier, on (21st) another boat with explosives was found in Panichchankarni lagoon.
